My planner is sitting next to me with a sticky note that reminds me I am supposed to write a blog post and reach out to my team today to ask what I can do to assist them in reaching their goals for this year.
The first thing I noticed when I went to my blog, is that I haven't posted in months and only posted three times last year! As discouraging as this was, I needed to review some old posts, tweak my blog template a little, and basically procrastinate before I started writing anything.
Back to goal planning: After years working in the mental health field, this is something that is almost second nature to me. The planning part is easy, the follow-through is the challenge.
Whether you call them goals, objectives, targets, the key is to look ahead at where you want to be years from now, then work backwards until you figure out what you need to do every year, month, week and day to get there.
My long term goal is to build my Avon business into a source of income for retirement so my husband and I can enjoy travel, home improvements, and time with family and friends. While this is a big goal, I sit here today realizing that it is within reach.
