I Have A New Spokesmodel!




A few days ago, my daughter posted a new Facebook profile pic. She got lots of comments and questions about what she uses on her face to achieve this flawless look:


Here's her response:
" It's a long list! Before makeup I use the anew clinical line eraser with retinol (around my eyes) and the serum all over. Then I use the nutraeffects moisturizer.

Here comes the makeup:
Face: flawless liquid foundation (I use it as concealer bc the coverage is amazing) and smooth minerals powder foundation all over. I love that stuff!! Also use the smooth minerals blush. I use the mark touch and glow, too as a highlighter/bronzer/blush.

Eyes: true color eyeshadow palette (I use nude muse which has purples, browns, nude/pinks). My eyeliner is glimmersticks in waterproof blackest night (favorite eyeliner EVER) and for the top lash line I use the precise liquid pen in black. My mascara is big and daring in waterproof black.

How to Achieve President’s Club While Saving Money Everyday!

This article is designed for my team of Avon representatives.  In the spirit of many Avon reps who share their successes so that all of us may benefit, I am making this information public.

I have been a representative for a total of  9 years.  I achieved President's Club (PC) status all but my first year.  The best part of PC is that I am guaranteed 40% earnings on core products, and 25% earnings on all third-party products ( those marked in the brochure with a ❖ symbol).   I'm going to tell you how you can achieve PC every year, no matter how many people you know, or how much time or money you have to invest. And, best of all, you can save money on your household expenses. 

This may seem to be too good to be true, but I am going to show you how just by using products that you currently buy retail at your grocery, department store or pharmacy, you can become your own best customer AND save money on products you and your family already use.

New representatives who haven't yet achieved PC earn commission in the form of discounts, according to the amount of their order in any given campaign.  According to the chart below, you need to have at least a $50 order to get a discount.  This order size amount includes sales tools, brochures and samples.

Also, in every campaign, you are entitled to purchase items from the "What's New" demo books for upcoming campaigns.  For example, when you place your Campaign 2 order, you can also order from the Campaign 3 and Campaign 4 What's New brochures.

This is just one example.  As you go through your home with an Avon brochure in hand, I'm sure you can find many other ways to save.  


The Advanced Techniques Shampoos and Conditioners are salon quality.  The deodorants come in lots of scents and formulas for men or women.  They are reasonably priced in the brochure, and you can save even more with your representative discount.  One of my favorite products is the Avon senses hand soaps.  I keep one in each of our bathrooms, and also at the kitchen sink.    I also keep a tube of Moisture Therapy Intensive Healing & Repair Hand Cream by all the sinks for after washing.   

This happens to be specially priced on the back cover of the Campaign 2 Brochure 4.2 oz. for $1.99.
The comparable product in retail stores is Neutrogena's Norwegian Formula Fragrance Free. A 2 oz. tube costs 3.96.  Let's say, for the sake of argument, that this campaign, you only have $50 in customer orders, which entitles you to a 20% discount.  Your cost for the Moisture Therapy Intensive Healing & Repair Hand Cream would be $1.60.  You would have to buy a little more than 2 of the Neutrogena Hand cream, which would cost you over $7.92.  When you buy this from your own Avon business, you save $6.32!

Something Completely Different...

Yesterday, I took a break from my usual activities to work on promoting my husband's new business venture.  We like to call it “In The Shop With Bob” because you never know what will be invented and produced when Bob spends time in his home machine shop.


One of Bob’s latest inventions is the YakMag.  It is made from recycled plastic gallon jugs and earth magnets.  The YakMag attaches to a boat, or kayak, and secures a fishing hook while the fisherman (or fisherwoman) is tending to other tasks.  It is a must-have for anyone who does not want a fish hook attached to his or her clothing or skin.  



The YakMag also has some non-fishing uses for home and workshop.  I actually sewed some YakMags to the curtains we use to hide supplies under the aquarium.  
 
             
The magnets are so strong, you  can use them to keep tools and utensils handy in the shop or kitchen.

Bob will be a participating vendor at the Monaghan Fishing Show this year on January 28 and 29.   It is a big deal for Central PA fishing enthusiasts, so I took some time yesterday to design a banner and business cards, as well as to tweak the design of the YakMag packaging.

Happy ANEW Year 2017!

I spent the last two days planning my goals for the year, and writing in my planner.  Yes, I have a paper planner, and it sits beside my laptop while I work at the online part of my business.  It reminds me what I sat down to do, and helps to keep me on task.  It would be so easy to go to Facebook right now, and check messages, scroll through the news feed, comment and react until I realize my coffee cup is empty and I have created and produced NOTHING!

My planner is sitting next to me with a sticky note that reminds me I am supposed to write a blog post and reach out to my team today to ask what I can do to assist them in reaching their goals for this year.

The first thing I noticed when I went to my blog, is that I haven't posted in months and only posted three times last year! As discouraging as this was, I needed to review some old posts, tweak my blog template a little, and basically procrastinate before I started writing anything.

Back to goal planning:   After years working in the mental health field, this is something that is almost second nature to me.  The planning part is easy, the follow-through is the challenge.

Whether you call them goals, objectives, targets, the key is to look ahead at where you want to be years from now, then work backwards until you figure out what you need to do every year, month, week and day to get there.

My long term goal is to build my Avon business into a source of income for retirement so my husband and I can enjoy travel, home improvements, and time with family and friends.  While this is a big goal, I sit here today realizing that it is within reach.  I recently reached Ambassador level with Avon, which means I now earn small bonuses on the sales of my team, and I receive leads from Avon to help me build my team.

This privilege comes with the responsibility of mentoring my team members.  I sometimes forget what I needed as a new representative, so my challenge now is figuring out what type of support my team needs from me.

As I go forward in the "ANEW Year", I will be working on training components for new as well as seasoned Avon representatives.

And now that I have made this public, I will be held accountable for this part of my goal plan.
